Casey Mace takes on new role as Chargé d'Affaires at US Embassy Singapore

Casey Mace has assumed the role of Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Singapore as of January 2025. Mace, a seasoned member of the Senior Foreign Service, began his tenure as Deputy Chief of Mission at the same embassy in July 2022. With over two decades of experience with the U.S. Department of State, he has primarily focused on U.S. relations within the Indo-Pacific region.

Mace's recent work involved U.S.-Singapore relations while serving on the National Security Council staff at the White House. He was an advisor to both President Obama and President Trump for Southeast Asia matters. His responsibilities included leading preparations for significant events such as the 2016 U.S.-ASEAN Special Leaders’ Summit and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s state visit to Washington, marking half a century of diplomatic ties between the United States and Singapore.

Before his assignment in Singapore, Mace held positions including Deputy Chief of Mission and Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg from 2019 to 2022. Earlier roles in his career have seen him serve as Deputy Political Counselor at the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta and Political Unit Chief within the State Department’s China office, among others.

Mace's career also includes assignments at American Consulates in Sydney and Guangzhou. Prior to joining government service, he worked in consultancy within Space and Telecom industries.

He holds a bachelor's degree from Georgetown University and is proficient in Bahasa Indonesia and Mandarin Chinese due to his professional commitments. Casey Mace resides with his wife Anne and their four children.
