The human rights of LGBTI individuals are essential and protected by the Universal Declaration. Although significant progress has been made in some regions to promote these rights, many countries still enforce discriminatory laws against LGBTI communities. These laws threaten their dignity, safety, and violate their human rights. It is a shared responsibility to resist such violence and discrimination. "It’s absolutely the right thing to do," reads a statement from the press release, emphasizing that enhanced protection of human rights contributes to greater stability and prosperity.

The United States maintains its commitment to promoting LGBTI rights domestically and internationally. In February, Randy Berry was appointed as the first Special Envoy for the Human Rights of LGBTI Persons. Additionally, through the Global Equality Fund, critical support is provided to organizations and defenders of human rights in over 50 countries working against negative social attitudes and discrimination.

The United States will continue advocating for the protection of LGBTI community rights and oppose their marginalization and persecution. The ongoing effort aims toward achieving justice and equality for all.
