An estimated 10,000 young men and women attended a job fair sponsored by the U.S. Embassy at the Greek Campus in downtown Cairo on February 28. The event provided attendees with the opportunity to apply for over 4,000 job vacancies with Egyptian, U.S., and multinational companies. University students also explored internships and volunteer opportunities to gain work experience. More than 8,000 jobseekers registered in advance, making it one of Egypt's largest fairs since 2011. The fair was organized in partnership with Job Nile Recruitment and HR Consultancy.
U.S. Ambassador Stephen Beecroft toured the event, meeting participants from diverse backgrounds. He stated, “I was impressed to see the diversity of job opportunities and the exceptional caliber, talent, and qualifications of the young Egyptians in attendance. It was great to see the involvement of alumni from U.S. Government exchange programs, many of whom were representing participating companies or helped organize the event.”
Over 50 companies, organizations, and training institutions took part in offering employment opportunities in key sectors such as engineering, finance, and medicine. Workshops and training sessions were available to help improve important skills for jobseekers.
