Thousands of job seekers gathered in downtown Cairo for a job fair supported by the U.S. Embassy, aimed at connecting individuals with potential employers. The event took place at the Greek Campus and was organized by JobNile, an Alexandria-based recruitment company.
More than sixty companies from Egypt, the United States, and other international locations participated in the event. Among them were Microsoft, Mobinil, and BMW. These companies encouraged attendees to apply for roles in various professional fields such as management, marketing, and engineering.
This marks the second year of the job fair's existence. Last year's event resulted in approximately 1,500 hires according to JobNile. This initiative is part of a public/private effort that began in 2015 through former Egyptian participants in U.S. exchange programs.
U.S. Ambassador Stephen Beecroft visited the fair and interacted with both company representatives and job seekers. "I was happy to talk to the company representatives who are hiring and the many young, well-educated Egyptians who are looking for career opportunities," he stated. "By sponsoring today’s event, our Embassy is helping introduce hundreds of university graduates to major Egyptian and multinational companies that need talented employees."
The fair provided a platform for young professionals to explore over 4,000 available positions offered by participating companies.
