On October 29, a ceremony was held at the Cairo West Air Force Base to mark the delivery of four F-16 "Fighting Falcon" fighter jets from the United States to the Egyptian Air Force. The event was attended by U.S. Ambassador Stephen Beecroft, Senior Defense Official Major General Charles Hooper, and Air Marshal Younes al-Masri along with other senior Egyptian military officials.

Ambassador Beecroft welcomed the U.S. Air Force pilots who completed the 14-hour flight from the United States to Egypt and described the delivery as "another step forward in U.S.-Egyptian cooperation on fighting terror, bringing stability to the region, and strengthening our historic relationship."

The F-16 Block 52 aircraft are known for their versatility in reconnaissance missions, air-to-ground attacks, and air-to-air engagements. The United States will also provide ongoing maintenance and training for Egyptian Air Force pilots and ground crews. These aircraft were delivered under the "Peace Vector" program, which has been supplying F-16 fighter jets to Egypt for three decades.

Major General Hooper highlighted the significance of these advanced fighter jets by stating they are a "vital multi-role aircraft that will provide the Egyptian people greater security and a powerful asset in the fight against terrorism." He further expressed his pride in celebrating "the successful strategic cooperation between our governments" and emphasized his pride in "the enduring relationship with the Egyptian Armed Forces."

The United States reiterated its commitment to its longstanding partnership with Egypt, particularly in joint efforts against terrorism.
