A trade delegation from North Dakota is in Cairo for two days of meetings with potential business partners and government officials. The visit aims to explore opportunities for expanding U.S. trade and investment in Egypt, particularly in agriculture and energy sectors.
Two American agricultural companies, Healthy Oilseeds and JM Grain, are part of the mission. The delegation is led by Doug Goehring, Commissioner of the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, and Dean Gorder, Executive Director of the North Dakota Trade Office.
"Egypt has tremendous business potential, and we are visiting Cairo to look into opportunities both for trade and potential future investments here," stated Mr. Goehring.
The North Dakota team, along with representatives from the Embassy’s Foreign Agricultural Service, is engaging with Egyptian companies in agriculture to explore business prospects. They are also meeting with officials from the ministries of Agriculture, Electricity and Energy, Industry and Trade, and Petroleum to discuss collaboration between Egypt and the U.S. in agriculture and energy sectors.
