A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers visited Egypt to strengthen relations between the two nations. The delegation, led by Representative Dana Rohrabacher from California, a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, engaged in discussions with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and other key figures in government, business, and community sectors.
This visit follows Rohrabacher's trip to Egypt in January 2014 when he announced the creation of a bipartisan Egypt Caucus within the House of Representatives aimed at enhancing ties between Egypt and the United States.
The delegation addressed various mutual interests and cooperation areas while expressing support for Egypt's security, stability, and prosperity. Other members of the delegation included Representatives Juan Vargas and J. Luis Correa from California, Andy Harris from Maryland, French Hill from Arkansas, Robert Pittenger from North Carolina, and Steve King from Iowa.
