The United States Embassy is hosting Ziad Haider, the Department of State’s Special Representative for Commercial and Business Affairs, in Cairo from May 31 to June 1. The visit aims to promote the upcoming Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES), scheduled for June 22-24 in Silicon Valley, California.
During his visit, Haider will engage with senior Egyptian officials and business leaders. The discussions will focus on entrepreneurship and innovation as tools to improve living standards, create jobs, and develop strong marketplaces tailored to consumer needs. Haider is set to participate in the "Road to GES 2016: Cairo" event at the American University in Cairo (AUC). At this event, he will discuss how technological innovations can help the next generation address future challenges.
Ziad Haider was appointed as Special Representative in February 2016. He leads efforts within the Department of State’s Office of Commercial and Business Affairs to support U.S. companies operating abroad and foster international partnerships that leverage American business expertise and standards.
GES 2016 will bring together over 700 entrepreneurs from 170 countries alongside 250 investors globally. The summit aims to create new opportunities for investment, partnership, and collaboration. It seeks to connect American entrepreneurs and investors with their international counterparts to form lasting relationships while emphasizing entrepreneurship as a solution for addressing significant global challenges.
