The White House recently hosted a conference with representatives from 20 countries, including Israel and several Arab states, to address the humanitarian and economic challenges in Gaza. The meeting was organized by White House Senior Advisor Jared Kushner, Special Representative for International Negotiations Jason Greenblatt, along with members of the National Security Council staff and the Department of State.
Representatives from international organizations such as the United Nations, the European Union, and the Office of the Quartet attended alongside delegates from Bahrain, Canada, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Netherlands, Norway, Oman, Qatar, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the United Kingdom.
This conference followed a recent meeting in Cairo and aims to advance ideas at the upcoming Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC) meeting in Brussels. The Trump Administration emphasized that addressing Gaza's deteriorating conditions is crucial for humanitarian reasons and for ensuring security in Egypt and Israel. It is also seen as a step toward achieving peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
During the conference discussions focused on practical proposals to tackle Gaza's current issues. White House officials presented specific project ideas developed with NSC staff and Department of State officials. These projects may be considered for funding at the AHLC meeting in Brussels.
Participants expressed their capability to collaborate effectively. The dialogue will continue closely with other stakeholders as efforts are made to improve Gaza's humanitarian and economic situation.
