At an event during Global Entrepreneurship Week, the U.S. Embassy in Cairo and INJAZ Egypt unveiled Startup Egypt, a significant entrepreneurship pipeline in the country. The program targets graduates aged 21 to 30 from various fields with minimal business experience, aiming to transform them into successful entrepreneurs who contribute to the national economy and create jobs.
Dorothy Shea, Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy, stated, "we are proud to partner with INJAZ Egypt in support of this exciting opportunity for young Egyptians to bring their ideas to the marketplace. Through training, mentorship, and networking, Startup Egypt 2019 will get businesses off the ground and support the growth of Egypt’s private sector."
Dina El Mofty, Founder of INJAZ, announced that "this 8th round of Startup Egypt will begin accepting applications from candidates by mid-November. We are so proud that this program has helped launch 65 startups, and most of them have gone on to create extremely successful businesses locally, regionally and internationally."
The U.S. Embassy's involvement is part of its ongoing efforts to aid Egypt's economic development and its dedication to helping Egyptian entrepreneurs establish successful enterprises that promote employment and economic growth.
