Egypt and the United States have signed amendments to five bilateral assistance agreements, amounting to $45 million. These agreements highlight ongoing U.S. support for Egypt in areas such as health, education, governance, and agriculture. The initiatives align with Egypt's economic reforms and Sustainable Development Plan 2030.
Sherry F. Carlin, USAID Mission Director to Egypt, stated: "Together with the Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation, we are building a more prosperous Egypt through sustainable gains in programs that respond to expressed needs." She emphasized that these agreements reflect a strong partnership and commitment to Egypt's economic future.
For over forty years, the United States has worked with Egypt to enhance self-reliance, stability, economic growth, and poverty reduction. Since 1978, USAID's efforts in Egypt have totaled over $30 billion.
