The discussions also addressed efforts to advance peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Additionally, they talked about the importance of civil society in Egypt and emphasized the protection and promotion of human rights.
Both Secretary Pompeo and Foreign Minister Shoukry expressed their anticipation for the upcoming U.S.-Egypt Strategic Dialogue scheduled to take place in Washington later this year.
