One hundred young social entrepreneurs from Ghana, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Nigeria, and Togo are set to participate in TechCamp West Africa from February 6 to 8. This event aims to enhance capacity building and networking with key figures from government, academia, civil society, and business sectors. The initiative is a collaboration between the US Embassy Ghana and the GhanaThink Foundation. It seeks to foster cross-border collaboration, inspire entrepreneurship, and boost trade across the region under the theme "Entrepreneurship: Adapt, Empower and Measure."

The program will include sessions on three sub-themes: Adapt, Empower, and Measure. Representatives from Microsoft, IBM, and KPMG will discuss their experiences in adapting to changing social and economic landscapes during the "Adapt" panel. The Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (SEED) will conduct a hands-on learning session for this theme.

The "Empower" session will feature speakers Patrick Awuah of Ashesi University, Nicole Amarteifio of An African City, and Sheku Kallon from PwC. Google will lead the "Measurement" sessions by guiding participants on maximizing entrepreneurial efforts through constant evaluation of their environment.

2014 Mandela Fellows Regina Agyare and Yayra Adzofu will share insights into their community service programs — TechNeedsGirls and a sanitation initiative at Accra Psychiatric Hospital — showcasing how social entrepreneurship can thrive through community engagement.

Ambassador Gene Cretz, Honorable Dr. Kwesi Botchwey, and Leticia Browne of the Ghana Angel Investment Network will offer feedback as country teams present solutions aimed at enhancing entrepreneurial environments within their communities.

Vodafone Ghana is set to headline Jam Sessions focused on problem-solving across various themes such as agriculture, robotics, new technology innovations, and elections.

Participants are encouraged to join the conversation on Twitter using #TechCampWA or #TechCamp and watch live-streams available on YouTube via USEmbassyGhana's channel. Further details can be found at www.techcampwestafrica.org.
