Sun Life U.S. has been recognized as a Top Workplace by the Boston Globe for the seventh consecutive year. This recognition, facilitated by employee survey company Energage, highlights Sun Life's status as a preferred employer in various regions including Boston, Hartford, Milwaukee, and Kansas City.

Tammi Wortham, senior vice president of Human Resources at Sun Life U.S., stated that "culture has become our superpower – it fuels higher levels of employee engagement, and also keeps people committed to and enthusiastic about their work." She emphasized the importance of flexibility, support, and collaboration in maintaining a consistent culture across all office locations.

The Wellesley office is Sun Life's largest hub with approximately 1,300 employees. The company offers benefits such as paid family leave and sabbaticals alongside a flexible hybrid work model. This allows employees to choose their working environment based on where they feel most productive.

Wortham added that being recognized again in Boston confirms that "we're doing things right," attributing this success to feedback from employees themselves.

Sun Life's accolades include USA Today Top Workplaces (2022-2024), Hartford Courant (2021-2024), Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (2024), Kansas City (2024), and Monster.com's Top Workplace for Remote Work (2024). Additional awards have been received from Forbes for diversity and large employers, Great Place to Work certification, Bloomberg Gender Equality Index, Girls Club Top 25 Companies Where Women Want to Work, and a perfect score on the Human Rights Commission Corporate Equality Index.

In addition to its workplace achievements, Sun Life maintains strong community ties in Greater Boston through partnerships with organizations like the YMCA of Greater Boston and support for initiatives such as #SunLifeDunk4Diabetes.

Sun Life is an international financial services organization with operations worldwide. As of September 30, 2024, it managed assets totaling C$1.51 trillion. In the U.S., Sun Life provides benefits covering dental care, vision insurance, disability management among others to around 50 million Americans.
