BMO has announced an extension of its support for communities impacted by the wildfires in the Los Angeles area. The bank is donating a total of $100,000 to two organizations actively involved in relief efforts: United Way of Greater Los Angeles and Direct Relief. Each organization will receive $50,000.
The United Way of Greater Los Angeles Wildfire Response Fund plays a crucial role during wildfire emergencies, focusing on helping low-income individuals, people experiencing homelessness, and small businesses affected by the fires. Elise Buik, President & CEO of United Way of Greater Los Angeles, expressed gratitude for BMO's support: "As we confront the heartbreaking devastation caused by the wildfires across Los Angeles communities and the long recovery efforts ahead, we are deeply grateful for the generosity of premier supporters like BMO."
Direct Relief provides medical aid and emergency grant funding to areas affected by wildfires. They work to improve resilience and access to care in these communities. Tom Roane, Vice President of Corporate Engagement at Direct Relief, stated: "Direct Relief is thankful to BMO for collaborating on our wildfire response in Los Angeles and Southern California."
