Siemens Mobility, in collaboration with its consortium partners, has secured significant rail contracts in Thailand aimed at transforming the country's public transportation system. The company will supply 21 additional trains and enhance signaling and SCADA systems for the MRT Blue Line. This line, stretching 48 kilometers with 38 stations, is a crucial part of Bangkok's transport network. Siemens Mobility has been involved in its development since 2002 and will continue to provide full-service maintenance for the new trains and critical systems until 2039.

Additionally, Siemens Mobility will expand intercity rail connectivity through the Den Chai - Chiang Rai - Chiang Khong project. This project includes two segments: a 132-kilometer stretch from Ngao to Chiang Rai with 11 stations, and an 87-kilometer segment between Chiang Rai and Chiang Khong with seven stations. Advanced signaling and telecommunications systems such as Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) and Automatic Train Protection (ATP) compliant with European standards will be delivered by Siemens Mobility.

The upgrade is part of a larger civil contract that includes various components like Trackguard Westrace MKII interlocking, Controlguide Rail9000 CTC/LCP system, ETCS L1, point machines, DC track circuits, and Clearguard ACM250 axle counters. Most engineering work will occur in Thailand with support from experts in Spain, Australia, and Germany.

Siemens Mobility has been active in Thailand for over three decades as a leader in transport solutions. Their contributions include Bangkok's first elevated mass transit system in 1994 and the initial subway line in 2004. The company continues to be a key partner for railway network expansions across Thailand.
