Sun Life appoints Benjamin Deng as president for Asian asset management

Sun Life has announced the appointment of Benjamin Deng as President of Asia Asset Management, effective January 1. This new role involves leading Sun Life’s asset management function to support its growth in insurance and asset management across Asia. Deng will be responsible for the company's investment management strategy and operations, aiming to establish Sun Life as a prominent asset manager in the region.

Benjamin Deng will join Sun Life’s Asia Executive Team, reporting directly to Manjit Singh, President of Sun Life Asia, and Steve Peacher, Executive Chair of SLC Management. He brings extensive experience from his previous position at Ping An Insurance as Group Chief Investment Officer, managing investments with $740 billion in assets under management (AUM). His past roles include Group Chief Investment Officer at China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd and Group Head of Investment Solutions and Derivatives at AIA.
