Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (Santander CIB) and Pemberton Asset Management have announced a strategic partnership to launch Invensa, a new company aimed at providing supply chain inventory solutions for large and mid-sized corporates. The launch of Invensa is subject to regulatory approvals.
The need for resilient supply chains has become increasingly important due to disruptions caused by events such as the pandemic, geopolitical tensions, and changes in the macroeconomic environment. Companies are now focusing on ensuring greater resilience in their supply of key goods and raw materials.
Invensa will leverage Santander's expertise in trade finance and Pemberton's experience in non-bank working capital solutions. The company aims to support a shift from 'just-in-time' to 'just-in-case' supply chain models, offering operationally efficient and flexible inventory financing and management on a large scale.
Jose M. Linares, Global Head of Santander CIB and Senior Executive Vice President of Santander, expressed his views on the partnership. Symon Drake-Brockman, CEO of Pemberton, also commented on the collaboration.
