A consortium of banks, including ING, Investec, KfW, KfW IPEX-Bank, Kommunalkredit, LBBW, NORD/LB, and SEB, has agreed to provide EUR 475 million in debt financing to Mainova WebHouse. This funding will support the construction of two data center campuses in Frankfurt. The first campus is expected to begin partial operations soon with a capacity of 30 MW.
KfW IPEX-Bank will serve as both Facility Agent and Security Agent for this financing arrangement. The data centers aim for a Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) target of 1.2 and will operate on renewable energy sources. They are designed to integrate waste heat into local networks and feature environmentally friendly design elements such as façade greening. These efforts are part of the plan to achieve LEED Gold certification.
Mainova WebHouse GmbH was established in 2020 and focuses on sustainable data center development. Its projects emphasize space- and energy-efficient designs tailored for the Frankfurt climate. The company aims to use waste heat extraction for CO²-neutral heating solutions as part of its commitment to energy transition.
