Yuanta Financial Holding Company and the Yuanta Cultural and Educational Foundation organized the "Yuanta Happiness Day" in Tainan, southern Taiwan. The event, held on November 9, involved Yuanta volunteers accompanying 60 children from remote areas to explore astronomy at the Tainan Astronomical Education Area. Each child received a customized "Happiness Gift Pack" containing new clothes, pants, and shoes.
The event invited elementary school children under the care of the Tainan Sunshine and True Love Adolescent Care Association. Many of these children face unstable family financial situations and lack after-school care due to their guardians' work commitments. The association supports these children with schoolwork, meals, and holiday activities. The visit aimed to stimulate their imagination through interactive exhibitions, DIY origami activities, and a 3D Astronomy Theater experience.
The Sunshine and True Love Adolescent Care Association is recommended by the Social Affairs Bureau of the Tainan City Government. Ya-Fen Chen, Chief Secretary of the Social Affairs Bureau, expressed gratitude towards Yuanta for their annual event supporting society. Su-Fen Hsu, secretary-general of the Association, highlighted their efforts in teaching life skills alongside academic tutoring and thanked Yuanta Foundation for its community support.
A school principal shared that "the Yuanta Happiness Day is like a switch that activates the imagination of happiness for children in remote areas." The foundation hopes this event will inspire children to pursue dreams or help others.
Since its inception in 2012, over 8,000 Happiness Gift Packs have been distributed across Taiwan. Yuanta FHC and Yuanta Foundation aim to continue community support through volunteer companionship, providing warmth and positivity to children's growth experiences.
