On the eve of the 2024 Fubon Senior Open, Tony Hsieh, a celebrated figure in Taiwanese golf, launched his memoir reflecting on his 60-year career. The event was attended by Fubon Group Chairman Daniel Tsai, who has supported Hsieh throughout his journey.

Tony Hsieh's career began with a championship title at the 1964 World Cup (Eisenhower Trophy), marking the start of an illustrious path in golf. Growing up near Taiwan Golf & Country Club, Hsieh refers to it as his "home course of golf enlightenment." As he celebrates the 60th anniversary of this victory, he unveils a memoir detailing key moments from his six-decade-long career.

Hsieh is known for setting numerous records and achieving remarkable feats. After turning professional in 1966 and joining the Japan Tour, he set an all-time record by leading 12 consecutive rounds and winning three tournaments back-to-back. This achievement is highlighted in his new book with the number "312."

Throughout his life, Tony Hsieh has dedicated himself to golf. He learned to play with makeshift clubs while caddying at Taiwan Golf & Country Club. His accomplishments include winning amateur and professional World Cup titles and order of merit titles on both the Japan PGA Tour and Asian Tour. As head coach, he led Taiwan to two gold medals at the 1994 Asian Games.

In recent years, Hsieh has focused on nurturing young golfers through initiatives like the Tony Hsieh Golf Foundation and collaborations with Fubon for events such as the annual Fubon Junior Heritage Camp.

“This year happens to mark the 60th anniversary of my World Cup victory," said Hsieh. "So, with a heart filled with gratitude and gratification, I am thrilled to share my personal story with everyone via this memoir at my home course.”

Daniel Tsai praised Hsieh's dedication: “Tony is a highly disciplined professional athlete who has set very high standards for himself... I have always been a big fan of his perseverance and willpower.” Tsai wrote the foreword for Hsieh’s book.

The memoir also shares anecdotes about meeting Jack Nicklaus and their shared brand endorsements. It highlights how Nicklaus congratulated him after setting a significant record.

Hsieh recounted how Fubon Senior Open was founded following his suggestion to use funds from celebrating his 50th career win for better purposes than a banquet proposed by Tsai.

As part of this year's tournament activities at Taiwan Golf & Country Club, senior players are gearing up for competition starting tomorrow after today's pro-am tournament concluded.
