ANZ has published its 2020 Annual Reporting Suite, which includes the Annual Report, Environment Social and Governance Supplement, Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), and a new Climate Change Statement.
The Annual Report offers shareholders insights into ANZ's performance, strategy, remuneration outcomes, governance matters, and other business developments. Key sections of the report feature statements from the Chairman and CEO, ANZ's response to COVID-19 in supporting customers and communities, risk management strategies during the pandemic, and efforts to become a more responsible bank.
The ESG Supplement provides an in-depth look at ANZ's sustainability agenda. It covers topics such as materiality assessment results, performance against ESG targets for the year, initiatives for better customer outcomes including support for vulnerable customers, and approaches to human rights and modern slavery.
In addition to these reports, ANZ released its TCFD report along with a 2020 Climate Change Statement. This statement aligns with the Paris Agreement’s objective of achieving net zero emissions by 2050. It emphasizes the necessary investments for this transition and reaffirms ANZ’s commitment through lending decisions that finance projects contributing to emission reductions.
