ANZ has announced the appointment of Rufus Pinto as the new Country Head for the Philippines. In his role, Pinto will focus on assisting Philippine corporations and financial institutions in expanding their operations across Asia, as well as in ANZ's home markets of Australia and New Zealand.
Rufus Pinto joined ANZ in 2011 and has since held various roles within Institutional Banking in Australia. He has also served in leadership positions across Asia and the Pacific, including Kiribati, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia. Before this appointment, he was the Country Head for Laos.
Pinto will report to Vishnu Shahaney, who is the Country Head for Singapore and also oversees South East Asia, India, and the Middle East. Shahaney expressed confidence in Pinto's capabilities: “With his significant country leadership and international banking experience, Rufus will make a great addition to the strong ANZ team in the Philippines with his extensive network and passion for business, people and our customers.”
Based in Manila, Pinto's appointment takes effect immediately. ANZ has maintained operations in the Philippines since 1990.
