ANZ has announced an agreement to sell 1,300 of its offsite Australian ATMs to Armaguard Group. This transaction is part of ANZ's efforts to streamline its business and specifically its Australia Retail and Commercial operations.
According to the terms of the deal, ANZ cardholders will continue to enjoy fee-free access to these ATMs. The machines will be rebranded under Armaguard Group's new national network brand. Additionally, ANZ customers will still have fee-free access to numerous other ATMs operated by major banks across the country.
Despite this sale, ANZ will retain control over approximately 900 ATMs located at its branches nationwide and certain strategically important offsite locations. The transfer of ATMs to Armaguard Group is anticipated to begin in 2021.
