ANZ has announced leadership changes with the appointments of Tammy Medard and Lisa Vasic to key roles. Medard will serve as Managing Director, Institutional Australia, while Vasic will take on the role of Managing Director, Transaction Banking.
Mark Whelan, ANZ Group Executive for Institutional, expressed his satisfaction with the appointments. "I’m pleased to welcome these important new additions to my leadership team. Both are experienced banking executives with exceptional customer relationships, a sharp risk lens, strong leadership and a track record of driving well-managed growth."
Whelan highlighted their focus on product innovation and data use. “They have also shown a keen focus on product innovation and the use of data and digital to support our customers, as well as a deep understanding of trade and supply chains, which are critical as we and our customers face uncertain times,” he stated.
Medard brings over 20 years of international banking experience to her new position. She is currently Head of Diversified Industries, Institutional at ANZ and began her career at the bank in Risk management before becoming CEO for ANZ Laos. Based in Melbourne, she succeeds Graham Turley who is retiring after 15 years with ANZ. Her appointment takes effect on October 1, 2020.
Vasic has been with ANZ for nearly two decades and most recently served as Head of Australia & PNG Transaction Banking within the Institutional division. Her previous roles include leading the Transaction Banking Financial Institutions team across ANZ's international network. Based in Sydney, she replaces Mark Evans who has transitioned to Head of Strategic Planning and Execution. Vasic's appointment is effective from August 17, 2020.
