ANZ has announced that its Community Foundation has allocated $250,000 to 16 charitable organizations. These grants are intended to support projects focused on financial wellbeing, housing access, and environmental sustainability.
The bank matches employee contributions to the Foundation with an additional two dollars for every dollar contributed. Since its inception in 1988, the Foundation has distributed over $5 million to charities across Australia.
Sarah Stubbings, Chair of the Foundation, stated: “It is great to see so many ANZ staff contributing some of their pay each week to make a difference to the lives of people and communities across the country, particularly in such a difficult year."
She further added: “The breadth and creativity of the projects put forward this year demonstrates how passionate local charities are about improving access to housing, improving people’s financial wellbeing and supporting sustainable environments."
Ms. Stubbings also noted: “We are pleased to support the charitable sector every year but especially this year as it has struggled with restrictions on fundraising events, volunteering drives and in-person programs.”
This year's grants ranged from $5,000 to $30,000. The distribution included six grants in Victoria, three in New South Wales, two each in Queensland and Western Australia, and one grant each in Northern Territory, Tasmania, and South Australia.
