ANZ has been recognized as the top institutional bank in Australia for the sixth year in a row, according to the 2021 Peter Lee Associates Large Corporate and Institutional Relationship Banking Survey. The survey highlighted ANZ's leadership in outright and lead bank penetration, as well as overall relationship strength.
The survey revealed that ANZ was rated number one by customers for its support during the COVID-19 pandemic, with 80% of respondents describing ANZ’s assistance as excellent or above average. This rating marked the largest difference between ANZ and other banks surveyed.
Key findings from the survey include ANZ maintaining its number one position in the Relationship Strength Index (RSI) for eight consecutive years. Additionally, it was ranked first as an institutional bank for outright and lead banking relationships, with 74% of 590 respondents confirming a relationship with ANZ. The bank also achieved the highest lead bank penetration score of 39%, ranking first as a lead provider in 10 out of 13 product groups.
ANZ was also acknowledged as a market leader in Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Finance. Medard further emphasized that their strong support during the pandemic extended beyond core lending to include digital banking solutions and cybersecurity measures to protect clients from fraud. She credited these achievements to their dedicated team who strive to understand customer needs and deliver exceptional banking expertise.
