The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) has announced the appointment of Christine O’Reilly to its Board as a non-executive director, effective from November 1, 2021. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval.
Christine O’Reilly is recognized as one of Australia's prominent non-executive directors. She currently holds positions on the boards of BHP, Medibank Private, Stockland, and The Baker Heart & Diabetes Institute. Her previous board roles include CSL, Transurban, and Energy Australia.
O'Reilly's career spans significant executive roles in infrastructure and financial services sectors. Her experience includes serving as CEO of GasNet Australia and Co-Head of Unlisted Infrastructure Investments at Colonial First State Global Asset Management. She began her career with investment banking and audit roles at Price Waterhouse.
Paul O’Sullivan, Chairman of ANZ, expressed confidence in O'Reilly's capabilities: “Christine is one of Australia’s most experienced company directors and I know she will make a valued contribution to ANZ and our shareholders."
He further added: “Christine has had broad exposure to the financial services industry as well as extensive experience in domestic and offshore companies. We look forward to Christine joining the Board in November.”
Following her appointment, Christine O’Reilly will be up for election as a Director at ANZ’s Annual General Meeting scheduled for December 16, 2021.
