Applications are now open for the ANZ Community Foundation grants program, inviting charitable organizations across Australia to apply for grants of up to $30,000. The foundation collaborates with local organizations to fund projects that support financial well-being, housing, environmental sustainability, or other community initiatives.

In 2021, the foundation granted $316,000 to 16 community organizations. Since its inception in 1988, it has distributed over 900 grants valued at more than $6 million throughout Australia.

This year’s funding will focus on initiatives aimed at improving financial well-being for under-represented and disadvantaged groups through economic participation efforts such as building financial literacy and vocational skills. Environmental sustainability projects that restore natural environments or contribute to water stewardship and carbon emission reduction will also be considered. Additionally, programs supporting those experiencing homelessness or living with disabilities will be eligible.

Sarah Stubbings, Chair of the Foundation, remarked: “Every year, we are impressed by the ingenuity and passion that these groups have to build strong foundations that help people and their communities to thrive. We’re proud to be able to support organisations to deliver programs which make a real difference. The most rewarding part of this program is seeing the ideas come to life.”

The foundation is funded by contributions from ANZ employees, with each dollar matched by an additional two dollars from the bank through its workplace giving program.

Applications are open until 5 p.m. on March 17. A National Advisory Board and State Committees composed of ANZ employees will decide the granting rounds each year. More information can be found at Equity Trustees.
