ANZ has announced a financial support package for customers and businesses impacted by the recent floods in New South Wales and Queensland. The assistance follows severe weather that affected the eastern states this spring, with ANZ having previously offered similar support to Victorians after storms last month.

The available relief measures include short-term payment relief on home loans, credit cards, personal loans, and some business loans. Although interest may still be charged during this period, fees for restructuring business loans and accessing term deposits early will be waived.

Michael Wake, ANZ General Manager New South Wales, stated: “Many residents, business owners and farmers have been forced to evacuate their homes and properties as flood waters rise.” He added: “As the immediate impacts of the flood waters subside, and the recovery process begins, we hope these relief measures will help our customers in what is a very difficult time.”

Affected ANZ customers are encouraged to visit local branches if possible or contact their relationship manager to discuss how their circumstances have been impacted. Customers with ANZ Home and Contents Insurance might also qualify for emergency funds and temporary accommodation.

For further assistance, customers can reach out to ANZ’s financial hardship team at 1800 149 549 or through anz.com.au/support/natural-disaster-support/. To file an insurance claim, they can call 13 16 14 or visit anz.com/insuranceclaims.
