ANZ has announced a financial relief package for customers impacted by severe flooding in south-east Queensland and parts of northern New South Wales. The bank is offering various support measures as weather systems continue to pose threats.

The relief package includes short-term payment relief on home loans, credit cards, personal loans, and some business loans. Additionally, ANZ will waive fees for restructuring business loans and accessing term deposits early.

Jacqueline Auf der Maur, ANZ General Manager Queensland, stated: "Severe weather across much of south-east Queensland and northern New South Wales has created a very serious and destructive situation with some people sadly having already lost their lives."

She added: "We urge everyone in the affected areas to stay safe and look after each other, including all the brave emergency services personnel, as it seems we are unfortunately not yet through this event."

ANZ encourages affected customers to reach out when they are ready to discuss how they can access these support measures. Customers can contact ANZ's dedicated financial hardship team at 1800 149 549 or visit anz.com.au/support/natural-disaster-support/. They may also visit local branches or speak with their relationship managers about their circumstances.

Customers with ANZ Home and Contents Insurance might be eligible for emergency funds and temporary accommodation. To lodge an insurance claim, they can call 13 16 14 or visit anz.com/insuranceclaims.
