Binance has announced the commencement of Binance Blockchain Week, which features a welcome address by Richard Teng. Teng shared insights on the momentum driving the cryptocurrency market and Binance's vision for the future. The announcement was made in an October 30 post on X.
According to the event's website, Binance Blockchain Week is a conference that brings together innovators, founders, investors, regulators, and officials to discuss the future of blockchain and Web3. The theme of this year's conference is "Momentum." "Momentum propels our industry, not only taking us through challenges but also leading us to our biggest achievements," according to the website.
In addition to Teng, featured speakers at this year's conference include Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire, Dubai Future Foundation CEO Khalfan Belhoul, dYdX Foundation CEO Charles d'Haussy, TikTok Creative Consultant Alex Lim, Kaiko CEO Ambre Soubiran, and Chainalysis Senior Vice President of Global Revenue Bas Lemmens.
Panel discussions covered topics including the intersection of generative AI and Web3. Participants explored potential benefits and risks associated with integrating AI into decentralized ecosystems. Another session focused on crypto compliance, examining the evolving regulatory landscape and public-private collaboration to safeguard the crypto ecosystem and ensure consistent standards across jurisdictions.
Teng joined Binance in August 2021. According to Binance's website, he previously served as CEO of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority at Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), chief regulatory officer of the Singapore Exchange (SGX), and director of corporate finance at the Monetary Authority of Singapore. He became CEO of the company in November 2023.
