ANZ has announced adjustments to its Executive Committee aimed at accelerating the transformation of the Group and enhancing common business services across the organization.

Gerard Florian's responsibilities have been broadened to encompass Group Services, where he will oversee the design and governance of ANZ’s enterprise-wide business services. These services currently include payments, retail and wholesale credit, and 'Know your customer' processes. In his role as Group Executive Technology & Group Services, Florian will continue to be accountable for ANZ's technology operations and will report directly to ANZ Chief Executive Officer Shayne Elliott.

Antony Strong is set to join the Executive Committee as Group Executive Strategy and Transformation. Having led Group Strategy since 2012, Strong will now have expanded duties that involve coordinating and driving ANZ's ongoing transformation efforts. His responsibilities include enhancing productivity across the Group, realizing benefits from Cloud migration and Enterprise Business Services, and delivering customer advantages from ANZ’s 1835i investment portfolio. Strong will also report to Shayne Elliott.

CEO Shayne Elliott stated: “Both Gerard and Antony are experienced executives who will continue to play a critical role in ANZ’s transformation while also ensuring we remain intently focussed on our strategic priorities."

Elliott further commented: “As we enter a new phase of development and growth, it makes sense to elevate the role of strategy and transformation within the bank, and there is an even greater need for a coordinated approach to shared business services available to all divisions within the bank.”

These organizational changes are scheduled to take effect on November 1, 2022.
