ANZ has announced a financial support package for customers and businesses affected by the recent floods in Victoria, New South Wales, and Tasmania. The move comes as Australia's east coast experiences significant rainfall.
The bank is offering various forms of assistance to those impacted by the flooding. These include short-term payment relief on home loans, credit cards, personal loans, and some business loans. While interest may still be charged during this period, ANZ will waive fees for restructuring business loans and accessing term deposits early.
Cameron Home, ANZ General Manager for Victoria and Tasmania, stated: "The recent wide-spread flooding across Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania has impacted many homes and businesses and at this time it is important for people to continue to monitor the ongoing situation and stay safe."
He further noted the challenges ahead but assured that ANZ is prepared to provide immediate financial help: “We recognise there are challenges ahead and we are here to offer immediate financial help to our customers in what is a very difficult time.”
Customers affected by the flooding can reach out to ANZ’s dedicated financial hardship team at 1800 149 549 or visit anz.com.au/support/natural-disaster-support/. They also have the option of visiting their local branch or contacting their relationship manager.
