Graham Hodges has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited and ANZ BH PTY LTD. This announcement was made by Paul O’Sullivan, Chairman of the ANZ Group. The appointment is effective immediately.
This decision comes after the establishment of a non-operating holding company (NOHC) structure within ANZ. This structure creates separate banking and non-banking groups, which received necessary approvals from regulatory bodies, government, shareholders, and the Court.
As part of this restructuring, ANZ agreed to add an additional Non-Executive Director to these two Boards. Graham Hodges has been chosen for this role, ensuring that he is not also a director of the NOHC or the ANZ Non-Banking Group.
Hodges currently serves as Chairman of Regis Healthcare Limited, an aged care company listed on ASX. He is also a Director at Assemble Communities, which works with Australian Super to support affordable and social housing ownership in Australia.
Before retiring from ANZ in 2018, Hodges had a 27-year career with the bank in various senior roles including Deputy Chief Executive Officer for nine years. His experience spans across different areas such as CFO, Head of HR, Head of Operations, and CEO Australia. Between November 2005 and May 2009, he was CEO in New Zealand and Director of ANZ National Bank Limited.
Paul O’Sullivan commented on the appointment: “Graham’s extensive banking experience and knowledge of ANZ will complement these Boards and I am confident he will provide valuable service to the ANZ Banking Group as we begin operating under this new NOHC structure.”
