ANZ has announced a financial assistance package to aid businesses and customers affected by flooding in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. The bank is offering immediate financial support measures, including short-term payment relief on home loans, credit cards, personal loans, and some business loans. Fees for restructuring business loans and accessing term deposits early will also be waived.
Kathleen Jahour, ANZ General Manager for Western Australia, stated: “We are thinking of those impacted by the flooding across the Kimberley and are here to help our customers who need our support." She added that there are various measures available to assist both businesses and individuals.
Affected ANZ customers can reach out to the bank's dedicated financial hardship team at 1800 149 549 or visit anz.com.au/support/natural-disaster-support/. Customers may also visit their local branch or contact their relationship manager for further assistance.
For those with ANZ Home and Contents Insurance, emergency funds and temporary accommodation might be available. Insurance claims can be lodged by calling 13 16 14 or visiting anz.com/insuranceclaims.
These efforts follow previous financial support announced by ANZ in October for flood-affected customers in Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, and in November for those in South Australia. With many towns still dealing with adverse weather conditions across Australia, ANZ encourages customers to seek help from its expert teams if needed.
