Siemens sells airport logistics unit to Vanderlande

Siemens AG has announced its decision to sell its airport logistics business to Vanderlande. Ralf P. Thomas, the chief financial officer of Siemens AG, expressed confidence in the transaction, stating, "In Vanderlande, we have found the best future owner for our airport logistics business." He emphasized that this move is part of Siemens' strategy to refine its portfolio as a leading technology company.

Michael Schneider, CEO of Siemens Logistics, highlighted the company's reputation in baggage and air-cargo handling. He noted that joining forces with Vanderlande would bring new energy to the airport industry. "Our innovative portfolio of high-performance hardware and software along with extensive offerings for smart services will perfectly complement Vanderlande’s portfolio," Schneider said.

Andrew Manship, President & CEO of Vanderlande, echoed these sentiments by acknowledging the alignment between Siemens Logistics' approach and Vanderlande's vision. He remarked on the benefits customers would gain from an expanded range of solutions and services.

The agreement marks a significant step for both companies as they aim to enhance their capabilities in automating and digitalizing airport logistics.
