The Global Sovereign Debt Roundtable (GSDR) convened in Washington, DC, on October 23, 2024, to evaluate progress in enhancing debt restructuring processes and timelines. The meeting also focused on addressing debt vulnerabilities and identifying priority areas for future work.

At the conclusion of the session, a report was released by the co-chairs: International Monetary Fund Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva, World Bank Group President Ajay Banga, and Finance Minister of Brazil Fernando Haddad. This document is known as the GSDR 3rd Cochairs Report and includes a compilation of technical issues discussed during previous meetings.

The GSDR's aim is to bring together debtor nations along with official and private creditors to foster a shared understanding among key stakeholders regarding challenges related to debt sustainability and restructuring. The roundtable seeks effective solutions for these challenges through collaboration.
