The World Bank has announced its support for Myanmar's poor and vulnerable population through the Myanmar Community Support Project (MCSP). The initiative is backed by financing from the Myanmar Partnership Multi-Donor Trust Fund, amounting to $22.5 million. Implemented between January 2023 and September 2024, the project was executed in collaboration with two international partners: the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the World Food Programme (WFP). The project's aim is to provide resources directly to communities, focusing on food security and livelihoods for populations affected by crises in specific regions of Myanmar.

The MCSP consists of four main components: emergency food assistance, nutritional support, livelihoods assistance, and access to basic services. As of June 30, 2024, more than 535,000 beneficiaries were reached, surpassing initial targets. The project enhanced food security for 45,200 conflict-affected households and provided nutrition support to over 17,000 women, girls, and children. Additionally, it offered livelihood assistance through agriculture production and cash transfers to 203,400 beneficiaries while improving basic services such as water, sanitation, and shelter for an additional 270,000 individuals.
