Chainlink communications director: 'Co-founder Sergey Nazarov took the stage at #Token2049'

Chainlink Communications Director Chris Barrett said that the company's co-founder spoke at the Token 2049 conference in Singapore about advances in financial technology. Barrett shared his statement in a Sept. 18 post on X.

"Chainlink Co-founder Sergey Nazarov took the stage at #Token2049 to highlight the rapid merging of TradFi and DeFi," said Barrett. "With #Chainlink driving this shift, the future of finance is onchain becoming more transparent, secure, and efficient."

According to Chainlink's website, attendees at the company's booth at the conference had the opportunity to see its technology in action and observe showcases from its Build members. Chainlink also participated in a networking lunch event on the 18th with Fireblocks and Polygon, discussing digital asset applications and emerging trends. Co-founder Sergey Nazarov delivered a keynote address in the evening on the Zeebu stage.

Additional featured speakers at the conference included Binance CEO Richard Teng, Ethereum Co-founder Vitalik Buterin, Multicoin Capital Managing Partner Kyle Samani, Polychain Capital Founder Olaf Carlson-Wee, Polymarket Founder and CEO Shayne Coplan, Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire, and Ethena Labs CEO Guy Young, according to the event's website.

Chainlink builds and sells oracle services that power smart contracts on the blockchain. According to the company's website, Chainlink's networks enable smart contracts to connect to external APIs. The technology is currently used in multiple industries, including insurance, gaming, and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Barrett joined Chainlink as an advisor in 2017. He previously founded PRserve and worked as an advisor for INX Limited.
