The World Bank Group has announced the appointment of Radoslava “Radi” Anguelova as Vice President for Human Resources, effective immediately. The announcement was made by World Bank Group President Ajay Banga on July 30, 2024.
“Radi is a critical piece of the puzzle in our drive toward impact and scale. She will help the World Bank Group feed our culture, and recruit, retain, and develop our team,” Banga stated. “Our focus is on strengthening a culture of decency and empowering each individual to do the best work of their lives. Radi’s experience and knowledge make her the perfect person to lead this charge.”
Anguelova's appointment coincides with significant operational changes within the World Bank Group aimed at enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in addressing global development challenges. Aligning personnel and organizational culture with these ambitions is a key component of the transformation strategy.
Before joining the World Bank Group, Anguelova served as Chief Human Resources Officer at Swarovski and was a member of its Executive Committee. In this role, she contributed to delivering agile talent solutions, building effective organizational structures, and leading cultural transformations to enhance organizational health and business value.
Anguelova also has extensive experience from her roles at IBM, the Coca-Cola Company, and Ecolab. Her career has spanned eight countries across four continents, where she has developed organizational capabilities and nurtured local leaders with global perspectives.
A Bulgarian national, Anguelova holds a master's degree in psychology from a university in Sofia and a post-graduate diploma in Social Psychology from Oxford University.
