The nature camp included a certified psychological rehabilitation program for Ukrainian children who lost family members in the Russia-Ukraine war; Binance Charity supported the camp with a $50,000 donation. This announcement came in a July 29 blog post from Binance.
The camp, called "I am Da Vinci," was organized by two of the ten Ukrainian psychotherapists trained and certified to conduct the "Children and Loss" program, a British psychological rehabilitation program. According to Natalia Podolyak and Olena Bozhor, the camp was meant to be a safe, supportive place for children to share their feelings, bond with others, and prevent potential social isolation. Attendees took part in art therapy sessions with psychologists and learned children-specific practices to help release negative memories.
"Every child deserves the love and security of a family. At Binance, we are more than willing to support initiatives aimed at alleviating their suffering and restoring hope. In every child we help, we see a brighter future, not just for Ukraine but for the entire world. Our commitment to providing compassionate assistance is not a choice but a responsibility we wholeheartedly embrace," said Kyrylo Khomiakov, Binance Regional Head for CEE & Central Asia in an April 2 Binance blog post about the company’s efforts to support the camp.
The Children of Heroes Foundation was created on March 2, 2022 by Danylo Pasko, a businessman. According to Tetiana Novytska, CEO of the Children of Heroes Foundation: "The war has hurt the emotional and psychological state of children, especially those who are experiencing the loss of their loved ones. Our beneficiaries have faced various psychological traumas, and if they do not work with specialists now, the consequences can manifest themselves for years. The mission of our fund is to ensure that all of our beneficiaries are integrated into society and have every opportunity to build a successful life. Therefore, organizing such camps where children will work with psychologists and recover from difficult experiences is one of the most crucial areas of our activity."
