Guilherme Nazar was recently named Head of Latin America at Binance. He was the General Manager of Binance Brazil at the time of his appointment, according to the company's July 15 news release.
In his new role, Nazar will have Frida Vargas, General Manager for Mexico, and Daniel Acosta for Colombia, Central America, and the Caribbean reporting to him as they lead their local markets. Nazar joined Binance in September 2022 and has been the General Manager for Brazil since then.
According to the July 15 news release, Latin America is where the highest-ranking national markets by grassroots crypto adoption are located, making the region significant in the cryptocurrency field. Brazil is ranked 9th, with Argentina ranking 15th and Mexico ranking 16th, as reported in the Chainalysis 2023 Global Crypto Adoption Index.
"We are determined to play a key role in their adoption journey, and I am delighted to be part of this momentum," said Nazar, highlighting Binance’s collaboration with policymakers to build a robust digital-asset ecosystem.
Nazar spent much of his career in real estate tech firm Loft and at Uber. At Loft he was Vice President and General Manager of Properties; at Uber, he was Head of Operations for Brazil most recently.
Nazar attended Colegio Miguel de Cervantes and the ESPM Higher School of Advertising and Marketing and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management. He holds multiple licenses and certificates, including FINRA Series 3,7, and 63. He also has certification in Financial Products Pricing from SG Invest Financial School and Principles of Finance with Excel by Simon Benninga.
