Port of Spain, 28 June 2024 – In 2023, the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) launched two online platforms aimed at enhancing environmental stewardship and sustainable development efforts across the Caribbean. The Caribbean Resilience Knowledge Platform and the Caribbean Local Green-Blue Enterprises (LGEs) Knowledge Platform serve as dynamic hubs for individuals, communities, and organizations to share knowledge, ideas, and solutions.

The Caribbean Resilience Knowledge Platform is an online hub that supports knowledge sharing, learning, and collaboration among civil society organizations and their public and private sector partners. It aims to scale up action for climate justice and resilience across the region. The platform offers data on climate patterns, case studies on successful adaptation projects, and toolkits for community resilience planning. It fosters collaboration among researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and citizens by creating a space for dialogue and exchange.

The Caribbean Local Green-Blue Enterprises (LGEs) Knowledge Platform showcases enterprises leading in sustainable business practices. From eco-friendly tourism ventures to innovative aquaculture projects, these enterprises demonstrate that profitability can align with environmental stewardship. The platform provides resources for aspiring entrepreneurs by connecting them with mentors, investors, and collaborators.

Individuals passionate about building resilience or fostering sustainable development are encouraged to engage with these platforms by accessing resources such as toolkits, guidelines, manuals, case studies, and webinars. They can also join communities through online forums and networking events or contribute their expertise on resilience-building and sustainable enterprise development in the Caribbean.

CANARI developed the Caribbean Resilience Knowledge Platform with funding from the Green Climate Fund, Inter American Foundation, and Open Society Foundations. The LGEs Knowledge Platform was developed under the project ‘Civil society participation for sustainable finance reforms: global coverage,’ funded by the European Union and managed by the Green Economy Coalition.
