Amber Specialty Pharmacy announces new company president

Jessica Ringena has joined Amber Specialty Pharmacy following a nine-year tenure with Hy-Vee’s subsidiaries, during which she was appointed president of Vivid Clear Rx, the pharmacy benefit manager established by Hy-Vee.

Amber Specialty Pharmacy, established in 1998, was selected in 2010 to provide specialty pharmacy services for employees suffering from chronic health conditions. According to the company's "About" page, it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Hy-Vee in 2014. The company encompasses various specialties such as infusions, transplants, oncology, rare and orphan drugs, and neurology.

Ringena's association with Hy-Vee began in 2015 when she took on the role of assistant vice president of financial reporting and later became controller. By 2017, she had been promoted to vice president of innovation and business development. In 2022, according to a news release dated Feb. 19 announcing her new position, Ringena was named president of Vivid Clear RX.

Aaron Wiese, president of Hy-Vee, praised Ringena's expertise in the Feb. 19 news release: "Jessica's deep understanding of the health care landscape and expertise in digital innovation will be crucial as we further our commitment to patient care and continue to build upon our partnerships with providers, manufacturers and payers at Amber Specialty Pharmacy."

A licensed certified public accountant in Iowa and an alumnus of Missouri State University with both a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Master of Accounting degree under her belt, Ringena kickstarted her professional journey with an internship at Jack E. Weimer CPA that spanned over three years. She served as an audit senior manager at RMS US LLP for more than twelve years where she conducted audits for clients across various industries including employee benefit plans, healthcare and senior living among others as per her LinkedIn profile. Her association with Hy-Vee began in October 2015 where she has held a variety of positions within the company and its subsidiaries.

In 2020, Amber Specialty Pharmacy was honored as the Specialty Pharmacy of the Year by the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy, as stated in the Feb. 19 news release announcing Ringena's new role within the company.
