The lifting solutions company, Manitowoc, has announced the appointment of a new director and an expansion of its board of directors from nine to ten members. The election of Ryan Gwillim to the board will take effect immediately.

Founded in 1902, Manitowoc is a leading provider of engineered lifting solutions. The company, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, designs, manufactures and distributes a variety of lifting solutions such as mobile hydraulic cranes, lattice-boom crawler cranes, boom trucks and tower cranes.

Kenneth W. Krueger, Chairman of Manitowoc’s Board of Directors expressed his pleasure at Gwillim's appointment in a news release dated January 16. He said, "The Manitowoc Board of Directors is very pleased to have Ryan join the Board. With his strong financial skills and qualifications, along with his extensive background in international mergers and acquisitions, Ryan will contribute greatly to our efforts to increase shareholder value."

Ryan Gwillim currently serves as the senior vice president and chief financial officer at Brunswick Corporation where he has been employed for nearly 13 years. During this period, he has held multiple positions including Vice President - Finance and Treasurer; Vice President - Investor Relations; Associate General Counsel International and Mergers and Acquisitions; Assistant General Counsel Corporate and Securities; International Counsel - EMEA; and Corporate Counsel.

Gwillim's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign’s Gies College of Business; an MSA in Accounting from the same institution; and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law earned in 2005 according to his LinkedIn profile.

Prior to joining Brunswick Corporation, Gwillim served as an account director at CPA Global and as an associate at Baker & McKenzie. His LinkedIn profile indicates that he was appointed vice president of investor relations in September 2017 before assuming the position of vice president – finance and treasurer in June 2019.

Brunswick Corporation, Gwillim’s current employer, is a marine recreation company that boasts more than 60 industry-leading brands. The company sells and distributes a variety of parts, accessories and technology brands, and also operates service-based businesses including Freedom Boat Club, Boateka, among others.
