Advent Technologies Holdings introduces the company's new chief financial officer

Naiem Hussain has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Advent Technologies Holdings, Inc. Prior to this role, he served as the company's chief investment officer. He takes over from Kevin Brackman.

Before his tenure at Advent Technologies Holdings, Hussain played a key role in investor relations and corporate planning during the demerger of ICI to form Zeneca, as well as Zeneca's initial public offering. According to his biography on Advent Technologies' website, he worked in corporate finance at Close Brothers investment bank and served as the head of asset management for Imperial Innovations. The biography also highlights that Hussain holds a degree in Computational Chemistry and is a Fellow Chartered Accountant.

Dr. Vasilis Gregoriou, Advent’s Chairman and CEO, expressed his enthusiasm about Hussain's appointment in a Jan. 11 news release: "We are delighted to welcome Naiem as our new CFO. His wealth of experience and strategic acumen will undoubtedly enhance our financial capabilities. We eagerly anticipate achieving new milestones together, further solidifying Advent's position as a global leader in the fuel cell and hydrogen technology industry."

Advent Technologies is known for producing fuel cells that can operate on various fuels such as hydrogen, e-fuels, natural gas or e-methanol. The company asserts that these fuel cells can be deployed anywhere globally and could play a significant role in decarbonizing the world. They function under extreme conditions of temperature, humidity and air quality. As stated on their website, their product line includes HT-PEM fuel cells with plans to commercialize this technology through partnerships with system integrators and original equipment manufacturers among others.

In response to his appointment, Hussain said: "I am thrilled to take on the role of CFO at Advent during this crucial phase for the Company. Advent’s innovative fuel cell technology holds immense potential to become a crucial element in various hard-to-abate industries on their path to decarbonization. In the upcoming years, Advent is set to experience substantial growth through initiatives such as the Green HiPo IPCEI project, and I am eager to contribute my long experience in the fuel cell industry to the ongoing success and expansion of the Company."
