Manisha Dias has been appointed as the Head of New Business Development at Somerset Reinsurance. In her new role, she will be responsible for managing the company's commercial activity, underwriting and pricing policy, reporting directly to the company’s CEO and chairman.
Dias joins Somerset from SCOR Global Life Reinsurance in Toronto where she held the position of head of partnership. She co-founded the Partnerships business during her tenure there. Prior to SCOR Global, Dias had worked with John Hancock and Manulife, according to a news release issued on January 10 announcing her appointment.

"Dias brings a deep track record of relationship building that is certain to expand our rapidly growing success in the U.S. and lead our expansion efforts around the globe."
In a LinkedIn post dated January 10, Dias expressed her excitement about joining Somerset Reinsurance and acknowledged her previous roles. She revealed that she had been living in Bermuda for the past six-and-a-half weeks and appreciated the warm welcome she received from both the Somerset teams and Bermuda residents.
