Jacobs Solutions joins Joint Venture Prosperity as service provider to Sunwater Limited

Jacobs Solutions has announced a five-year partnership with Sunwater Limited of Queensland, Australia, as part of the Prosperity Joint Venture with AECOM. The contract involves providing engineering consulting support for Sunwater’s projects across various disciplines, including the upgrade of six dams over the next 12 years.

The Dallas-based company is set to enhance the infrastructure of Sunwater Limited through its engineering consulting services. Jacobs Solutions will offer expertise in multiple areas such as hydraulic, civil, electrical, geotechnical, mechanical and asset management. These services will be pivotal in supporting the Dam Improvement Program aimed at ensuring a safe water supply for the Queensland region.

"Our appointment is testament to our technical excellence in water and ability to leverage our global dam engineering capability to support Sunwater's forward capital expenditure program. Through collaborating with Sunwater and our JV partner as an integrated team we will deliver Sunwater's extensive program of work. Our aim is to help Sunwater grow their internal technical proficiency in engineering, asset management and adaptive planning, enabling them to achieve their strategic objectives," said Keith Lawson, senior vice president of Jacobs Solutions according to a news release dated Dec. 19.

AECOM, an infrastructure company that focuses on consulting throughout a project’s lifecycle from planning through construction management also announced this joint venture on Dec. 18. The news release highlighted that this venture represents a long-term sole partner arrangement designed to foster collaboration and expand Sunwater’s capacity and ability to meet demand.

"To successfully deliver a substantial and complex capital works program, Sunwater needs to work with the industry's best. Our partnership with the Prosperity Joint Venture will provide the necessary skills and capabilities to build, operate, and maintain water infrastructure assets critical to Queensland's economy. By bringing together recognized industry leaders, we aim to create capacity growth to safely deliver high-quality projects that will generate water for the prosperity of future generations," said Glenn Stockton, CEO of Sunwater, in the Dec. 19 news release.
