Angela, a beneficiary of the Binance Charity Tech Scholarship, shared her experience with cryptocurrency in a video posted on X. After participating in the Scholars Program, she secured employment with a financial technology (fintech) company. The Scholars Program is an initiative of the philanthropic wing of the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange.

Angela stated, "Crypto is life-changing...Before I finished the course, I saw a job at a fintech in Africa, and I got a job, too. In just nine months, crypto has changed my life, my career, that of my family."

In the video, Angela revealed that prior to her introduction to cryptocurrency, she felt unfulfilled and was "always stressed" at work. A friend referred her to the Scholars Program which led her to apply. She affirmed that she "didn't pay a dime" to complete the nine-month course.

According to Binance Charity's website, the Scholars Program aims at "enabling the next generation of digital leaders to develop their skills, knowledge and experience without financial barriers." The program partners with universities and vocational training centers globally to provide financial support for education in blockchain and web3.

Binance Charity reports that over 70,000 applicants have been accepted into the program so far. Of these students, more than 57,000 have completed the course while another 13,000 are currently enrolled.

Chainalysis, a blockchain analytics firm, reported in September that crypto adoption has seen significant growth in African nations. Residents are increasingly turning to Bitcoin and stablecoins as alternative stores of value due to rising inflation.

Global Finance reported predictions from consulting firm McKinsey indicating that Africa's fintech industry will grow by 10% annually. This growth is expected to result in revenues reaching $230 billion by 2025.
